Dreams

The sun shining through the branches above made the mist start to fade with the morning growing later.  The smell of a light hearted forest is the most calming feeling that comforts the most adventurous souls.  Dangling branches just above his head gently shakes in the wind to wake him up.  Eyes opening, grey eyes stare above through the branches to the sky that will soon be blue.
A smile creases this gentle young ones face.  Nothing soothes body aches like a great night sleep.  The night held a gentle breeze but was still fairly warm.  He didn’t even need to use his cloak to cover himself in the night.  Stars had winked above his head and talked him to sleep.  Cradling his small friend who found him in the night helped his dreams to be the best dreams he had in many years.  Rolling fields and farmland rolled through his head in his dream.
Sitting up to stretch, arms outstretched as far as they would go, breathing in deeply he becomes wide awake.  There was nothing softer then a nice tuft of grass to sleep on.  Looking around he takes in the view around him.  Closer to him then he normally liked a pack of wolves trotted through the field below him.  Grasses were blowing and folding over in the gentle breeze of the beautiful day.  Up over the next rise below him he could see the king’s castle.  The sight was one of wonder.  Beyond the city below rose the mountainous range called Staggering Peaks.
Behind the castle, a good 20 leagues beyond the city, the largest of the peaks rose.  People called it Trag Mountain.  This mountain had supposedly never been climbed before.  It rose well above the clouds so he believed it.  A thought in his head was he wanted to be one of the first to climb it in order to be knighted for something that wonderful.  Again though dreams were not the reality he lived.  Back to work he supposed.
